Job Description

About the role:

The Supply Chain Planner Buyer II role will sit at the Covington, GA location and manage raw materials we house for our sister site in Round Lake, IL. You will report to the Materials Manager.

How you will contribute:

  • Guarantee continuity of supply for part numbered Auxiliary Materials in JDE which include materials purchased for our Round Lake facility and are housed in Covington. Ensure that supply is following requirements and the planned future manufacturing fill schedules.
  • Optimized and independent Purchasing Planning, Materials Management and tracking of assigned items from Supply/Demand and Order Placement up to release of material.
  • Monitoring/maintenance of safety stock levels, slow moving items and Inventory turn rate.
  • Secure information flow between supplier and company partners (Supply Chain Planning, Global Sourcing and Procurement, Supplier Quality, Receiving and Inspection, Round Lake personnel) on an operational level.
  • Perform analysis/review tasks and subsequently implement corresponding/corrective actions for: MRP run messages, Safety Stock, item master data (Planner Buyer resp. related parameter), inventory level (i.e. slow movers, excess/obsolete). Track release adherence performance.
  • Prepare forecasts for GSP
  • Support/ initiate process improvement projects for both process logic and process performance topics
  • In case of product supply shortages, communicate transparent and up-to-date supply plans to internal stakeholders. Monitor execution of agreed plans, measure performance and solve and communicate any deviations from agreed plans. Decide on supply tradeoffs in cooperation with all Supply Chain Planning departments, Procurement, and Round Lake personnel.
  • Order Management and supplier relations: Create purchase orders (JDE materials without MRO) incl. Non-BOM items and SPM including interplant transfer orders for auxiliaries. Coordinate/monitor deliveries and periodically monitor delivery dates - take care of order confirmation. Check and expedite PO's and Re-work PO's if necessary. Work with Pre-sampling process (CBB), where applicable. Manage administrative, order related tasks, f.i. OC order process for return shipments (credit note), reconciliations for mismatching quantities on invoices, missing shipping documents.
  • Balance future capacity workload for Warehouse, Inspection and Releasing activities based on future arrivals
  • Support on decisions regarding buildup of strategic inventory (at supplier or inhouse)
  • Support Warehouse personnel when needed for RL material orders
  • Issue management: Align with local GSP department., SC site lead and internal stakeholders (SQ, R&I). Check and determine impact on supply, escalation and communication to Global Sourcing and Procurement and other internal stakeholders. Anticipate/support QIT.
  • Support material qualification, SNC/SCAR actions, labeling changes (phase in and out), delivery performance data for the SPR Review process
  • Audit preparation and participation - responsible persons depending on audit goal / auditing organization. b) Training for self.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • BS or BA preferably in Supply Chain, Technology, or Engineering or equivalent field or experience
  • 4+ years professional experience in supply chain management, customer service and procurement.
  • APICS/ASCM Certification
  • ERP Systems knowledge (Preferably JD Edwards)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Proficient in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
  • Experience in Materials Management, Disposition/Planning and Cost Accounting.
  • Decisions on necessity of escalation of auxiliary material issues acc. to defined escalation process
  • Decisions regarding inventory replenishment and optimization of inventory level, i.e Safety stock level definition.
  • Decisions on bridging inventory to cover supply interruptions.
  • Any additional requirements identified by planner buyer lead, planning manager, or supply chain director

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$67,900.00 - $106,700.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
