About the role

The Supervisor Manufacturing implements and supervises all activities in the production area at Takeda's Round Lake, Illinois manufacturing facility, to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other required regulations; focus is on optimization in the use of raw materials, equipment and employees in producing quality products; may manage labor and capital expenditures; may help develop budgets, recommend manufacturing policies, procedures and programs. You will report to the Associate Director of Inspection.

How you will contribute

  • Provides guidance through positive interactions with all employees during daily operations.
  • Supervise the daily production, scheduling, staffing, material management, compliance, training and auditing activities – to meet customer requirements including deadlines and quality standards.
  • Interview, hires, coaches, motivates, and develops staff; conduct annual performance reviews for all team members; help set performance objectives and development plans; monitors progress.
  • Review, approves, and manages documentation for batch and system records; assists in release of product for distribution; help meet product release time goals.
  • Support training programs designed to enable staff to build all manufacturing processes with strict compliance to cGMPs and EHS regulations.
  • Develop and implement performance measurement and internal auditing programs to evaluate operation efficiency and quality; implement changes based on assessments.
  • Perform/lead technical reviews, investigations and process improvement projects; provide manufacturing input into integration and validation of new equipment and processes.
  • Resolve technical, material and cGMP problems that may affect project deadlines; provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance during a deviation in the process.
  • Represent us during FDA inspections; provides information to FDA that establishes credibility and demonstrates compliance with cGMPs.
  • Perform daily Gemba walks to engage with employees and ensure their following proper safety practices.

What you bring to Takeda

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 4+ years of related experience OR Bachelors' degree in science, engineering or other related technical field and 2+ years of related experience. Some leadership experience.
  • Experience working in an FDA regulated environment.
  • In-depth process knowledge of related manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Respond to detailed inquiries, and present information to groups and senior management.
  • May supervise multiple groups/shifts.

Important Considerations

  • Must be willing to work aligned shift.
  • In general, you will do a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
  • Can carry up to 30 lbs., lift up to 30lbs, push/pull up to 30lbs (with assistance of material handling equipment).
  • Can stand and walk for an extended period over an 8–12-hour shift between rooms and across the site.
  • Indoor working conditions.
  • Will work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • May work in controlled environments requiring special safety gear or gowning; will follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body. No make-up, jewelry, nail polish, or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
  • Will work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Can work overtime.
  • May work in a confined area.
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$84,000.00 - $132,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
