Job Title - Head of Manufacturing

Zydus Takeda Healthcare Private Limited is a Joint Venture Company between two pharmaceutical giants Zydus Healthcare Limited; an India based leading Pharma Company with global footprints and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the largest Pharmaceutical Company coming from Japan with worldwide presence. The company’s manufacturing facility is designed to produce both intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients and is compliant with both national and international GMP standards.

About the role -

  • Lead managing manufacturing function for multiproduct API plants.    

  • Liaison as Factory Manager for the plant.

  • Ensure smooth functioning of plant and achieving production targets as per business plan.

  • Lead transfer of technology in the plant in coordination with PD lab.

  • Collaborate cross functionally with different functions for successful completion of projects and fulfill manufacturing targets.

  • Capability to identify Critical Process Parameters to monitor, conduct risk assessments and streamline the process w.r.t standard yields, consistent quality and yield improvements. Identify bottle necks and devise appropriate plan.

  • Planning for raw material, plant & machinery and manpower requirements.

  • Budgeting (Opex/Capex) and managing costing for the products by ensuring appropriate resources utilization, process optimization.

  • Ensuring the quality of products manufactured in the plant are meeting as per the regulatory (cGMP) requirements and meet specification of the customer.

  • Responsible for quality management systems for manufacturing operations. Ensure timely record of deviations, evaluations, investigations, and conclusions.

  • Ensure timely readiness for regulatory and customer audits.

  • Drive Operational Excellence projects in coordination with Business Excellence.

  • Identify opportunities for Data, Digital & Process Automations projects for the Site.

  • Ensuring the safe human operations and plant & equipment safety. Identify & manage projects for Climate Action Change/ Sustainability initiative.

  • Ensure environmental protection by controlling improvement of EHS management system (ISO 14001-2015 and ISO 45001-2018).

  • Developing team members with appropriate coaching and mentoring to develop talent pipeline for future readiness. Training on different topics for the subordinate to upgrade their knowledge in process, safety and quality.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP

  • Data Analytics

  • Certifications in business tools & methodologies like – TQM, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, etc.

What you bring to Zydus Takeda:

Education:

  • M.Tech. / B.Tech. / B.E. – Chemical Engineering (Preferred – UDCT, IIT, NIT) or M.Sc. / PhD (Chemistry)

  • PG – Degree/Diploma in Technical / Professional courses will be added advantage.

  • Knowledge of Statutory, Regulatory and Legal requirements for API/Intermediates Mfg. Plant.

  • Knowledge of MS Office, Power BI and other Data analytics tools.

Work Experience:

20 to 25 years of experience with API / Chemical manufacturing (USFDA approved facility experience preferred) with minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience of heading manufacturing operations.
