My name is Jeremy Klein and I am a Material Change Management Project Leader. I have been working at Takeda for over 2 years now.

What has your career journey with Takeda been so far? If you have moved into new career areas, how did Takeda encourage and empower you to make the switch?

So far my career at Takeda has been full of learning opportunities, whether it is from a professional as well as personal standpoint. I started as an individual contributor working on supply chain projects.

I simply showed interest and raised my hand when presented with the opportunity to build and lead my current team. Luckily Takeda provided me with the needed level of support to grow and take on this new challenge.

What about your role do you find the most rewarding?

My current position is rewarding on multiple levels. Even though it seems like a difficult field, effective change management can result in improved organizational performance.

By implementing changes that are well-planned and well-communicated, organizations can streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. Seeing a common team collaborating towards a similar goal is truly satisfying.

Every project is in my view a learning opportunity to both learn from previous mistakes and also identify new ways of working.

What is your biggest achievement so far in Takeda?

In my view, the biggest achievement is the creation of my team. Being an individual contributor definitely has some advantages, but I found that I genuinely enjoy team management.

I have been lucky enough to build it entirely and help them grow through knowledge transfer based on my own experience to start with.

I simply showed interest and raised my hand when presented with the opportunity to build and lead my current team. Luckily Takeda provided me with the needed level of support to grow and take on this new challenge.

How has mentorship played a role in your career path at Takeda? Has anyone helped you in your career along the way?

Initially, mentorship helped me to set foot in my role and gain experience. The sponsorship and support I have been given by my direct manager was however the key to enabling me to grow.

I have been trusted, supported, and pushed forward when an opportunity was brought to light.

When others ask, how do you describe what it’s like to work for Takeda?

Working at Takeda is very fulfilling. Not only does it remain interesting from a personal development and growth standpoint, but ultimately from a patient impact standpoint. All of our jobs matter whether it remains administrative or directly on the production line.

The overall collaboration is mandatory to ensure product availability at a patient level. It provides me with a somewhat subjective feeling of overall contribution to helping patients have a better day-to-day life, despite their conditions.

How do you balance your personal interests and obligations outside of work? Do you have some tips to share with others on improving work-life balance?

Regarding work-life balance, I believe Takeda is doing its utmost as a company to support an effective balance. I am a happy father of 2, very involved as a rugby coach and music player.

I can honestly say that my position at Takeda enables me to combine it all.
