A look inside Takeda’s manufacturing operations in Singapore
Takeda's Singapore biologics manufacturing facility, conveniently located in Woodlands with easy access to public transportation, facilities, and amenities, focuses on manufacturing potentially life-saving medicines for patients suffering from rare blood disorders such as Hemophilia A and B. As part of the company’s Biologics Operating Unit network, the site is Takeda’s only biologics drug substance manufacturing facility in Asia. Around 400 employees work in this location across teams dedicated to Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, and much more. The facility is made up of more than two manufacturing suites covering over 14,000 square meters – and will be expanding soon with the introduction of Takeda’s first zero energy building.

The Singapore site is integral to Takeda’s goal of becoming carbon zero in our own operations by 2040. The new building also is first-of-its-kind within Singapore’s pharmaceutical and biotech industry. It raises the bar for energy efficient design, while its cutting-edge technology and engineering set an internal benchmark for new Takeda construction. The building’s design and sustainability goals were made even more challenging given Singapore’s hot and humid tropical climate and ensuring employees’ comfort remains a high priority.
