Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program Outcomes Research and Data Science

The 2-year Outcomes Research & Data Science Fellowship Program is an opportunity for University of Mississippi Department of Pharmacy Administration graduate students to gain experience in leveraging healthcare data and drug market information to demonstrate value of Takeda’s products for patients. The Fellow will generate evidence within key therapeutic areas of hematology, gastroenterology, neuroscience, rare diseases, and plasma-derived therapies to prepare them for the challenges of medical affairs strategy and execution in drug development, particularly in the area of outcomes research and data science.

During both years, Fellows will be full-time students enrolled in the Department of Pharmacy Administration at the University of Mississippi and will participate in the Fellowship virtually with the Takeda Outcomes Research & Data Science team. Over the course of the program the Fellow will contribute to various Outcomes Research & Data Science team activities, including data strategy and management, value-based agreement development, and forecasting of value-based agreement performance across diverse health plans and populations. Fellows will be responsible for various deliverables during their Fellowship, including full projects and presentations.

Ideal candidates for this Fellowship will be familiar with healthcare reimbursement and related coding systems, have previous experience in healthcare data, including administrative claims databases, and be familiar with advanced epidemiological or health outcomes study designs. Fellows should have excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, and have an interest in web-based communication tools.
