POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Integral to Takeda Pharmaceuticals strategy and group-wide simplification agenda, the SVP, Takeda Business Services will be instrumental in creating, implementing and developing a World-Class TBS Organization.

  • Strategy –Drive the TBS strategic direction and vision for the Group.
  • Strategy – Implement and own the Business case for TBS full potential including the implementation roadmap, and supporting Target Operating Model / technology plan.
  • Perform - Accountable for run and improve aspects of TBS. Delivery of both the managed services (transactional and specialist) and provision of infrastructure for hosted services while achieving continuous improvement and exceptional customer service
  • Transform – Deliver the overall TBS objectives and business case in partnership with the wider business – lead the implementation and transition to the TBS model.
  • Transform – Provide change leadership and build the organisation, creating one customer-centric culture and value focused mind-set for TBS
  • Transform – Initiate and lead innovative projects that leverage emerging technologies to deliver automation, insights and analytics creating further simplification and value for the Group.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides strategic leadership through input into the Companies TBS strategy and ownership of the Roadmap of change.
  • Provide the vision and direction for the defined long-range plan for the TBS organization maintaining focus on efficiency, innovation, customer service, and both top and bottom line contribution.
  • Continuously identify and actively sponsor improvement opportunities leveraging LEAN and Automation (RPA, ML, AI etc)
  • Ensures the Takeda Business Services (TBS) strategy for the group is turned into tangible action, including the sponsorship and delivery of any supporting change programmes necessary to make it happen.
  • Effectively align senior leaders on the TBS value proposition, ensuring clarity on the initial launch capabilities versus long term capabilities, and the anticipated benefits of each. Build trusted relationships with senior customers and stakeholders (markets, employees, functions, corporate & hubs) and ensure evolution of the TBS is aligned with business needs
  • Drive year on year service improvement and cost reduction ensuring best practice and encouraging innovation
  • Establish comprehensive TBS reporting & analytical capability to monitor all its activities
  • Ongoing refresh of the TBS business case – financial and non-financial

    Facilitate & drive appropriate governance for TBS

  • Lead the development of TBS capabilities required to deliver customer service excellence.
  • Make decisive decisions on difficult issues that may impact the organization, including decisions such as the insourcing/outsourcing of a given activity.
  • Be viewed as a credible and sincere source of TBS thought leadership.
  • Create and maintain a work environment conducive to teamwork, creativity, quality, operational efficiency, and value acceleration
  • Accountable for reinforcing customer values and ways of working, and ensuring they are embedded into the organisation
  • Establish and lead operations organisation to support managed and hosted services
  • Work with key business, functional and IT leaders to develop a vision for Management Information, Data & Analytical Services.  Establish this service in a timely manner
  • Optimise the delivery network for cost and service, co-locating activities that support multiple markets, regions and functions.
  • Ensure compliance through frequent monitoring and emphasis on accuracy and adherence to policies, procedures and regulations. Monitor and manage this actively, providing analytics and suggested improvements along the way.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • A seasoned professional with 10 years’ experience in establishing, leading and operating a GBS organization
  • Understanding of the strategic context for the organization, and its priorities. Knowledge how to work with the leadership of the organization to enable transformation.
  • Direct experience in building and running a world-class TBS capability including automation, analytics, robotics
  • Functional experience in one or more of HR, Finance, IT, Data & Analytics, Global Process or Procurement.
  • Good understanding of the operating model roadmap and end-to-end processes required for successful business performance. An ability to architect new ways of working where required.
  • Understanding of complex change activities and how to enable them to succeed including the technical disciplines required, e.g. Change Management, Organization Design and Leadership Development, technology delivery, financial control and benefits management.
  • Ability to articulate the case for TBS and successfully influence Executive level leadership to support and drive adoption of the concept.
  • Ability to bring transparency and clarity to the business case and resources required for transformation and able to facilitate allocation and prioritization of investment and resources.
  • Experience of leading complex change at a regional or global level, either in a business sponsorship role or as a transformation and program leadership professional.  Ideally to include experience of leadership of Enterprise Cost Reduction programs in complex business environments.
  • Leadership experience of large scale customer orientated service organizations, across country, region or global. Including: managing a complex Eco System of Delivery with Multiple Providers, Experience of delivering end to end process services across Hire to Retire, Finance and IT
  • A Charismatic leader, with a consulting mind-set
