As a Business Intelligence Manager working on the Market Research team supporting the rare disease portfolios, you will be empowered to meaningful assessments are done from cross-functional perspective for real-world alignment. In this role, you will contribute to Takeda’s mission by serving as a cross-functional liaison. A typical day will include:


  • Lead and manages secondary market research through proactive collaboration with cross-functional partners and a through needs assessment
  • Partner with Market Research Lead to deliver and interpret meaningful primary market research
  • Facilitate the prioritization of research needs and is able to influence the strategic direction of the brand based on research insights


  • Work with third party agencies and vendors to obtain external information sources and to define information reporting needs, timelines, delivery of data and project related budgets
  • Ensure the relevant information sources are available in order to provide accurate data for market research purposes
  • Develop and maintains brand forecasts including baseline trending, market and brand events
  • Ensure alignment on forecast assumptions and other critical analytical assessments with cross-functional partners
  • Identifies key business issues that impact product and market forecast and collects required information for quantification
  • Develop and disseminate meaningful, value-added analysis, insights and corresponding actions to cross-functional partners on a regular basis
  • Develop and maintain an analytics calendar to ensure routine, communication and follow-up on market and brand insights
  • Create dashboards and scorecards to provide business insights to the cross-functional teams.  Defines the key metrics in consultation with internal and external partners to deliver actionable findings
  • Effectively collaborate with Operational Excellence team members to ensure alignment and delivery of sale effectiveness or operations requirements such as territory design, resource allocation, incentive compensation and segmentation
  • Displays a strong understanding of sales force effectiveness analytics
  • Acts as a core member of the integrated brand team and will be expected to partner and contribute equally with commercial, medical and market access colleagues
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the therapeutic area and scientific data
  • Displays a working familiarity with pharmaceutical data sources and is comfortable working with large data sets across a variety of analytical platforms


  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, statistical or market research or marketing with knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical industry an asset
  • University degree, preferred science, information technology or MBA
  • Experience in quantitative reasoning and evidence-based decision support
  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical data analysis including: forecasting model development, maintenance and communication and understanding of forecasting methodologies
  • Market research needs assessment, methodology evaluation, contracting, results communication
  • Market insights development, KPI creation and scorecard communication
  • Experience in sales force effectiveness (territory design, segmentation, sizing, IC)
  • Excellent Excel or other data analysis tool knowledge (SPSS, SAS, Business Intelligence software)
  • Proficiency in pharmaceutical CRM uses, metrics, reporting with high proficiency in pharmaceutical data sources such as IMS data
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Product Knowledge – Good understanding of the medical/therapeutic usage of the products
  • Project Management and facilitation skills with strong bility to plan and coordinate programs and activities
  • Demonstrate strong influence, coaching and negotiation skills while working collaboratively with other departments
  • Proven vendor and/or project management experience


  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or customer meetings, including overnight trips in Canada, US, and Europe (<25%)
