Senior Brand Manager - Neuroscience

Role Responsibilities:


  • Achieve/exceed budgeted sales targets (Including market share targets)
  • Control expenditure within the agreed limits in the Budget or subsequent forecasts
  • Achieve agreed product profitability targets
  • Work with finance to deliver sales & OPEX forecasts as required


  • Work with the Business Analysts to analyse and interpret market data and provide insights to grow the brand and monitor performance
  • Initiate market research as appropriate to indentify product opportunities
  • Review effectiveness of promotional activities calculating ROI where possible


  • Forecast product sales for existing (and future) products as required
  • Monitor performance relative to the forecast promptly advising of deviations to the plan
  • Provide forecast to supply chain ensuring that all products have sufficient stock to meet market demand


  • Prepare Product Portfolio review and plan identifying opportunities and gaps that need to be addressed
  • Prepare forecasts and presentations for all applicable planning cycles for assigned product/therapeutic area
  • Prepare business cases where applicable for products within therapeutic area

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Responsibility for Marketing & Sales plans across all planning cycles. Cross functionally design product and therapeutic area strategies by chairing relevant brand team and facilitating brand team meetings/forums
  • Implement marketing strategies as outlined in the marketing plan
  • Maintain a appropriate in-field activity level to deliver implementation plans with Key Accounts
  • Prepare Long-Range and Lifecycle Management plans that extend the product life cycle and manage patent expiry and LOE environments as appropriate

External Customers

  • Create and maintain customer segmentation and activity model for healthcare customers with the assistance of the Business Analysts
  • Devlop and implement strategies to move customers along the adoption ladder
  • Maintain direct relationships with individual customers, including KOLs and Key Accounts
  • Assist the Medical Department with Advisory Boards including formulation of the agenda and attendance at meetings
  • Attend National and International Congresses as required to stay abreast of therapeutic area issues and strengthen KOL relationships
  • Co-ordinate all sponsorship initiatives for the therapeutic area
  • Maintain relationships with HCP, patient and industry bodies in relevant therapeutic area
  • Stay abreast of Government, Regulatory and Reimbursement issues
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and wholesalers as appropriate

Internal Stakeholders & Leadership

  • Assist in training of any Sales or cross-functional Team in market environment and product strategy
  • Build Sales Team engagement with marketing and organisational strategy via presentations and workshops at sales meetings
  • Work with Neuroscience Business Lead to provide strategic direction, leadership and coaching for any sales representatives
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the Neuroscience Product Manager in alignment with the Franchise Director

  • Strong financial knowledge to lead therapeutic area portfolio management

  • Strong coaching and leadership skills applicable in a sales and marketing context
  • Validated experience and knowledge of external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, providers

  • Direct impact to Franchise, Oceania & GEM  P&L given the importance of therapeutic area portfolio management to maximize drugs’ value throughout its life-cycle

Education / Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological and Medical Sciences, or Medicine or equivalent knowledge experience is desirable
  • Business knowledge, MBA desirable
  • >3 years of standard-setting performance in this role or a comparable role
