Job Description

PURPOSE

Set up medical affairs personnel development system to maximum Medical Affairs value based on the competency model of medical affairs and compliance with Takeda policy. Optimize medical affairs personnel performance management system from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives by execution of Veeva. Work closely with key stakeholders to identify and provide business/competitive insight to support R&D in China excluding current 3 treatment areas and lead innovation of Takeda medical affairs to develop optimized strategy for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build up innovative medical affairs capability to ensure that Takeda is continually innovating and maintain a competitive edge. Develop and execute medical affairs personnel capability developing strategy based on the company strategy.

Develop, execute and track the medical affairs training plan

Continuously optimize the new staff on-board readiness process and make sure the new staff complete all the courses and obtain the certification

Optimize medical affairs personnel performance management system from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of medical affairs department. Portfolio Strategy and Planning excluding the current 3 TAs(GI/CVM/Onco)

    We are currently seeking a Manager/Sr. Manager, based in Beijing. Reporting to Head of Strategic Planning and Research Informatics, this role manages competitive landscape, business insights and knowledge databases to add value to MSD R&D China. 
    The department of Strategic Planning and Research Informatics has overall responsibility for developing and implementing strategy in acquiring and utilization of scientific information and business intelligent information to support drug development in China.   This role will work closely with clinical research, regulatory, and other key stakeholders in identifying and providing business/competitive insights to support R&D strategies in MSD R&D China. 
    The successful candidate will bring demonstrated business/competitive intelligence expertise and a successful track record in working across organizational boundaries.
    Primary Responsibilities:
    The Manager/Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning and Research Informatics will:
    • Integrate competitive intelligence information in collaborating with regulatory, commercial, business development and HQ business intelligence to provide support to China product development and optimize China product development strategy
    • Support key strategic projects including strategic pipeline planning, external collaboration and partnership, and business operations planning and delivery
    • Define and implement strategy to acquire, integrate and manage scientific and medical information in drug discovery and development in China
    •   Collaborate with business development staff from both MRL and GHH to identify external business collaboration opportunities in order to maximize the value of our portfolio
    • Analyze the external environment and government policy change/trend and regularly provide input to China R&D
    • Responsibility in engaging external vendors as necessary
    Education & Experience Requirements
    • MD or MS/Ph.D in life sciences, pharmacology, public health, or related field. MBA is plus
    • 2-5 yrs experience in drug development, new product planning, market research, consulting or other relevant areas in healthcare industry.
    • Knowledge in China pharmaceutical industry and regulations
    • Strong analytic skills and good interpersonal/communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS

Level of Education

University Degree in Medical or Pharmacy, Master degree is preferable.

Working Experience in Relevant Field

Minimum 2 year related working experience in pharmaceutical company. Medical affairs training experience is preferred. Experience of complex project management in multinational company.

Professional Knowledge and Skills

Excellent teamwork/collaboration.

Excellent planning and organization skills and excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

Able to work under pressure in a busy environment and manage change, excellent problem solving skills.

Good at Microsoft Office.

Excellent English skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
