Job Description

OBJECTIVES:

The Intern will learn about site engagement & internal corporate communications within a fast-paced pharmaceutical research company. The Intern will contribute to site engagement activities and provide draft corporate communications for the site under supervision. (This position is NOT lab or science-based.)

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Utilizing communication templates, create content for multiple platforms: intranet, emails, posters, slides presentations and company newsletter
  • Composes articles for Weekly News, Monthly Newsletters and other Internal Communications
  • Creates PowerPoint slide content and presentations
  • Company event support (Town Halls, community events, internal activities)
  • May perform administrative tasks (Outlook calendaring, clerical work)
  • Breaks down long term assignments into day-to-day tasks that allow for timely and effective completion
  • Owns and is accountable for, projects from beginning to end, with sharp attention to detail
  • Maintains corporate communications materials and files
  • Researches communications tools to effect change at TCAL

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be currently enrolled in a higher education institution (2yr/4 yr)
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship.
  • Communications and/or English majors preferred
  • Must possess strong writing and verbal communications skills
  • Must work well with others
  • Ability to translate ideas into dynamic and captivating visuals
  • Basic comfort with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or other graphic design programs and software preferred
  • Prioritization and organization skills are a must
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  •    None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.)
  • Carrying, handling and reaching for objects
  • Ability to sit or stand for long period of time

WORKING HOURS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work 15 – 20 hours a week
