As a Sr. Manager, Strategic Pricing and Reimbursement working on the Market Access & External Relations Leadership Team, you will be empowered to lead and support development of pricing and payer agreements to optimize patient access to Takeda’s medicines, and a typical day will include:


Strategic Pricing:

  • Work collaboratively with Director, Pricing and Strategic Customer Negotiations, Market Access, Business Units, and Finance to develop price strategies that are designed to maximize commercial success across Takeda’s product portfolio
  • Support the development of pricing and contracting strategies for Strategic Customers (including pCPA, Canadian Blood Services (CBS), and Hema Quebec), public, private payer sectors for assigned current and future pipeline Takeda products
  • Provide subject matter expertise and insights to contribute to the development of launch and net pricing and strategic customers, public, and private negotiation strategies
  • Accountable for PMPRB submissions and reporting requirements for assigned Takeda product portfolio
  • Support development pricing approvals with Takeda Global, EUCAN and Canadian LOC for assigned product portfolios  
  • Co-lead operationalization and implementation on Takeda Canada pricing governance/COE model including local and Global price approvals, gross to net price forecast, financial accruals, and customer payment approvals

Negotiation/Contracting Strategy:

  • Support development of price negotiations with strategic customers (pCPA, CBS, and Hema Quebec) with Director, Pricing & Strategic Customer Negotiations as assigned
  • Operationalize Takeda’s product listing agreement and contract strategies with private, public payers, cancer agencies, strategic customers, and hospital and group purchasing organizations
  • Co-develop innovative and value-based payer product listing agreements with payers with Director, Pricing and Strategic Customer Negotiations and National Lead, Private Payers
  • Co-lead price modeling and analytics capability to support innovative/value-based agreement strategies with private and public payers
  • Co-lead and manage all hospital group purchasing organization(GPO) RFP, tenders, and contract awards for assigned Takeda products
  • Further develop and establish strong working relationships with key hospitals and GPO’s to build and protect Takeda business

Reimbursement Strategy:

  • Add value to successfully solve an array of strategic and business challenges related to private payer reimbursement
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all stakeholder/customer needs, value drivers and systems/processes
  • Support product submission development and product launch excellence strategies as assigned

**Role Level for incumbent will be determined by overall experience and capabilities


  • Minimum 3-5 years’ job experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare insurance, payer, HTA, consulting, and pharmacy/pharmacy benefits management industries
  • University degree in a health sciences, business or related field of study
  • Relevant experience in areas pharmaceutical pricing, private payer reimbursement, PMPRB/pricing submissions, pricing and hospital contracting strategy development is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector and the complexities of the private and public market with experience working in multiple therapeutic areas is an asset
  • Extensive private payer reimbursement policies and practices in Canada
  • Relevant experience and understanding of Canadian Blood Services (CBS) and Hema Quebec contract management process is preferred
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation capabilities, strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, scientific and analytical skills 
  • Demonstrated competencies of customer focus, relationship management, collaboration, team work, and strategic and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated strong project management capabilities
  • Customer service experience to incorporate external needs into service delivery, including strong interdependent partnering and high level of customer focus
  • Bilingualism an asset


  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or customer meetings, including overnight trips in Canada
