As a Regional Manager, Medical Communications working on the Oncology team, you will be empowered to plan and implement the medical communications and education program plan for the organization, and a typical day will include:


  • Develop and execute against the Medical Communications strategic and tactical components of the brand plan
  • Actively participate in strategic planning and ongoing tactical management of the business as a key member of the brand team and the medical affairs team
  • Assist the Senior Manager in the planning and implementation of the Medical Communications and Education Program Plan in the Oncology space (Hematologic and Solid tumors) that is aligned with the corporate vision and goals


  • Assist the Senior Manager in the development of innovative, high quality, scientifically exact, balanced and non-promotional accredited and non-accredited medical education programs
  • Manage and implement regional programs tailored to local HCP’s needs, through solid educational needs assessment and regular interactions with Key opinion leaders
  • Support Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) and Key Account Managers (KAM) in the planning and execution of local learning programs and KOL development with Multiple Myeloma and Lung Cancer experts
  • Ensure Post program analysis, report on outcomes and capture metrics to assess programs impact on Knowledge, Attitude and Skills
  • Assist with planning of International and National Speaker Programs and work closely with MSLs and KAMs (Key account managers) to ensure flowless execution and maximize customers outreach
  • Support the management of the educational grants and sponsorships from external stakeholders
  • Support the planning and coordination of Scientific Affairs activities at key medical conferences
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian guidelines and standards from external accreditation committees and other healthcare professional education accrediting bodies, industry organizations (IMC), PAAB, Takeda’s Ethics and Compliance Department and Health Canada Policy
  • Work collaboratively with members of the cross-functional brand team to implement the strategic plan including large programs, symposium/congress, advisory boards, grants and sponsorships
  • Work with external agencies to ensure the delivery of results within budgets and timelines while managing budget related to medical education programs and reporting
  • Collaborate with external industry and academic partners, educational partners, and organizations to develop and implement strategic and innovative customer and patient focused programs related to Oncology that will maximize impact and credibility of Takeda’s medical education and communication initiatives
  • Manage special projects for Senior Manager as needed


  • 5 years industry experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • MSc., BSc, or a degree in an applied health science
  • Experience in the therapeutic area of Oncology
  • In-depth knowledge of IMC guidelines
  • Knowledge of PAAB code, broad understanding and expertise in CHE, Medical Education, Adult Learning Principles, Accreditation and Evaluations
  • Knowledge of the Health Canada policy “The Distinction Between Advertising and Other Activities”
  • Medical Education planning and implementation process
  • Proven vendor and/or project management experience
  • Bilingual (English/French) – an asset


  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.
