As our successful Supply Chain Cluster Operations Lead for UK & Ireland, you will be a senior member of our Supply Chain team, reporting to Head of Supply Chain and Logistics, UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for demand forecasting and inventory management in UK & IE, which is critical in ensuring continued access to products for our patients.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversight of supply chain from forecasting to replenishment in 3PL warehouses in UK & IE, to inventory management
  • Lead the demand forecasting process for Legacy-Shire business. Lead monthly demand review meetings with UK & IE Commercial Business Units, establishing a consensus forecast. Load forecast in forecast system in time for monthly upload to plant
  • Work with Regional Supply Chain to ensure reliable supply of products into UK & IE to meet customer needs
  • Manage local inventories and liaise with production planning. Visibility to forecast and shipped to show adherence to plan, with oversight of delivery schedule to ensure appropriate in-country inventory levels maintained at 3PL warehouses
  • Work with plants to ensure theUK & IE cluster receives inventory on time, and avoids supply issues
  • Analyse inventory levels and provide reporting to Commercial Business Units and other stakeholders
  • Work with finance to make accruals where there is an inventory risk (due to shelf life, excess inventory etc.) and work with finance on end of month and ad-hoc audit activities.
  • Support cluster in tender management and reflect changes in volume in demand signals
  • Be part of team in launch execution representing the cluster working with stake holders on maser data pricing to ensure items can be transacted
  • Subject matter expert on cluster supply chain processes, particularly in area of inventory and demand
  • Transactions in SAP to ensure stock status and visibility are maintained
  • Lead stock reconciliation process with 3PL, in coordination with Cluster Operations Planner
  • Liaise with internal Quality team and 3PL to ensure timely release and posting in case of supply disruption
  • Timely intervention and escalation and communication of supply disruption issues
  • Oversee the Cluster Operations Planner in managing inventory levels for ancillary products supporting the Factor Direct patient service.  This includes working with 3PL warehouse partner to ensure stock is managed effectively, working with finance and quality to ensure account management and set-up with ancillary suppliers is well managed
  • Key stakeholders will include UK & Ireland Commercial Business Units, QA, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, other parts of Supply Chain (both Regional and in UK & IE), and other relevant functions from time to time.
  • A key part of this role will be supporting the integration of the Legacy-Shire part of the business into the Takeda business, and establishing appropriate systems and processes as the 2 parts of the organisation come together.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Significant previous experience in similar roles
  • Excellent systems knowledge and experience of this in a Supply Chain context: SAP, Kinaxis etc. and Excel
  • Stakeholder liaison experience (especially with finance, commercial, external partners)
  • As a more senior role in the team, demonstration of leadership values is important
  • Awareness of, and experience in applying and complying with, GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and all applicable regulatory requirements preferred
  • Previous work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred but not essential
