Job Description

Regional Director, Field Reimbursement


The Regional Director of Field Reimbursement provides leadership and direction at an area level to achieve company objectives, meet customer needs, and foster team development. This role is responsible for developing the access and reimbursement strategy for an assigned Region in conjunction with the brand vision, and coordinating with Regional and National cross-functional team.

The Regional Director, Field Reimbursement is also responsible for managing, coaching, developing, directing, and leading a high performing team of Field Reimbursement Managers on product procurement, Buy & Bill processes, billing and coding, contracting, education of all EntyvioConnect service offerings for providers and patients including co-pay and patient assistance programs, payer access and medical policy as well as other business related issues in the specialty marketplace.


  • Responsible for leading the execution of business strategies and objectives across the product portfolio to achieve Entyvio access in a region. 
  • Work with and through Field Reimbursement Managers to ensure regional patient pull-through performance meets or exceeds Company Access and Reimbursement objectives. Model ownership and accountability in executing company priorities and strategies to maximize access and reimbursement confidence. 
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Directors and Area Directors of Specialty Key Account Management to ensure key account management teams are aligned on National, Regional and District business and execution goals. 
  • Partner with the Directors of Managed Markets and Leadership at Entyvio Connect to ensure patient access on National, Regional and District level.
  • Implement area Management By Objectives (MBOs) for each Field Reimbursement Manager in the respective area to ensure department objectives are achieved. Conduct bi-annual MBO reviews to identify and provide updates on access opportunities and retain focus on strategic business objectives. 
  • Position meets with executive level business professionals when necessary to ensure customer service levels are met, as well as partnering as a consultative thought leader in the field of Patient Services.
  • Responsible for leading a team that performs patient pull-through, with responsibility for the patient population in each specific geography.
  • Ensure that the area attracts, retains and develops highly qualified, diverse field reimbursement talent with demonstrated successful performance results. 
  • Effectively coach, develop, motivate and monitor team performance to include: regular and timely feedback through advanced coaching techniques, actionable Development Plans that develop talent for increased responsibility, early identification of performance challenges or deficiencies and creation of action plans to appropriately address performance gaps. 
  • Develop a focused vision and create a high performance team environment which values continued professional development and personal accountability. Eliminate barriers and foster a solution oriented mindset throughout the region. Exhibit both a long-term, strategic view of the business with an acute focus on driving immediate results. 
  • Recruit and hire Field Reimbursement Managers within the region. Create an environment of learning and growth for long-term success, development and retention of talent. 
  • Provide consistent and accurate expectations and ongoing feedback to Field Reimbursement Managers as part of an ongoing performance management process through timely assessment of performance using MBOs. 
  • Collaborate with peers, marketing and training personnel, and Patient Services to share information and implement regional and local access and reimbursement initiatives/strategies. 
  • Inform senior and corporate executives on changes and emerging issues in the access and reimbursement landscape that could affect specialty brands. 
  • Develop and coordinate all regional/area access and reimbursement internal training needs by working collaboratively with training department, as necessary.  
  • Lead within a field-based matrix environment to ensure a well-aligned, consistent and strategic team approach to customer interactions (including, but not limited to the following teams: Patient Services, Sales, Key Account Management, Managed Markets, Medical Affairs and Marketing) 
  • Manage regional budget and resource allocations to maximize return on investment. 


  • BA/BS Degree required, preferably in life science or business. MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, of which 4 -7+ years biotech/specialty injectable sector. 
  • Minimum of 3+ years direct people management experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years Field Reimbursement experience
  • Experience managing in an MBO environment strongly preferred
  • Superior working knowledge of specialty product channels and a proven understanding of specialty product distribution. Deep knowledge of US healthcare systems, including expertise in health care financing and reimbursement policies with an emphasis on specialty/injectable markets.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial and public payer landscape, PBMs, MCOs, Medicare parts B and D, Medicaid policy.
  • Proven organizational, analytical, and interpretative skills; demonstrated time management.




  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.)
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Carrying, handling, and reaching for objects


  • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites/HQ. 
  • Overnight travel (50%), including some weekend commitments. 


  • Ability to use field based telephonic and computer tools for all aspects of the job is critical.
