OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE :

  • Develop and oversee patient-centric recruitment strategies that enable study teams to plan, forecast, remodel and succeed in delivering patient enrollment goals
  • Consult with and provide guidance to study teams to enable informed decision making on recruitment strategy and vendor selection
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams and recruitment vendors in execution of recruitment and retention tactics
  • Drive forward innovation including processes and methodologies, leveraging data and technologies and patient insights

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Develop and deliver custom-built, study-specific recruitment and retention plans, leveraging real world data and patient perspectives to shape the strategy
  • Monitor performance of recruitment and retention campaigns and implement strategic adjustments throughout the enrollment period; actively manage key vendors throughout the process
  • Collect and promote application of best practices and lessons learned across all programs
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to collaborate across the organization with various functional groups, such as Patient Engagement, Patient Advocacy and Medical Affairs to drive forward patient recruitment strategies
  • Act as champion for patient recruitment within the organization, educating colleagues and bringing visibility to the value of the department
  • Oversee execution of deliverables by PR&R Specialist including:
    • Early operational planning and protocol feasibility
    • Site identification
    • Enrollment forecasting and modeling
    • Patient recruitment and retention support strategies
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in discovery and development of innovative recruitment solutions

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Extensive experience (5 to 8 years) in patient recruitment with evidence of increasing responsibility within a recruitment agency, pharmaceutical company, CRO or similar organization required
  • Expertise in developing and overseeing recruitment and retention strategies
  • Experience in managing leading-edge recruitment vendors, tools, and methods.
  • Understanding of marketing and advertising strategies
  • Understanding of clinical trials, relevant knowledge of GCP/Ich and applicable global regulations with regard to trial optimization strategies and tactics
  • Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
  • Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Experience with rare disease / difficult to recruit populations a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, exercise sound judgement and escalate issues when necessary
