Job Description

Director, Field Medical, IBD (REMOTE)--East Coast

The objective and purpose of the Director position is as follows:

*Lead the development and execution of field strategic and operational plans tied to strategic imperatives and promote effective collaboration with internal and external partners. 

*Collaborate with internal partners to provide scientific support for internal and external activities where there is a defined and appropriate scientific role to employ field medical strategy. 

*Define, clarify and manage regional team priorities to support medical affairs activities that are consistent with strategic imperatives. 

*Responsible for the creation and the operationalization of the MSL plan of action including creation, roll out, metrics, reports and any other required field projects 

*Encourage professional MSL development and manage individual and team performance; 

*Oversee and ensure the highest medical and scientific standard and expertise across the MSL team to establish strong peer-to-peer collaborations and professional relationships 

*Ensure full compliance with all training and reporting responsibilities. 

*Proactively monitor MSL activity and contributions and adjust tactical plan as appropriate to achieve strategic imperatives 

*Implement and manage database to capture and report activities and insights of MSL team 

*Monitor the competitive therapeutic landscape, including current and emerging therapies. 

*Support discussion and communication of scientific insights obtained by the MSL team, to stimulate scientific exploration and inform overall strategy

Qualifications:
*Advanced Clinical/Life Science Degree is required (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP or equivalent); 

*Proven therapeutic expertise in gastroenterology preferred; 

*8+ years of global biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience (US professional experience required) preferred;

*Minimum 3 plus years’ experience in leading and managing a medical scientific liaison team is required;

*Experience in Medical Affairs’ activities/special projects other than Field is required;  
Eastern geographical residence is preferred 

*Proven record of effectively interacting with commercial/clinical operations, regulatory, and cross functional medical affair’s teams required
