Job Description

Join us as Drug Safety Officer - Head of Pharmacovigilance UK & Ireland (known internally as Area Lead, Drug Safety Officer) in our Wooburn Green office.

Since making an exciting acquisition this year, we are also delighted to have expanded our portfolio into new disease areas including Rare Diseases with an equally impressive R&D pipeline spanning 4 areas including Oncology and Gastroenterology, .

Reporting to the Senior Director of PV Affiliate Relations you will be leading a small team responsible for achieving compliant performance of PV activities in the UK and Ireland affiliates. This is a highly collaborative role involving close working with local functions such as Medical Information, QA and Regulatory as well as with Global Patient Safety Evaluation colleagues and other DSOs within Europe and Emerging Markets.

Preferred candidates will have substantial experience of working within the Pharmaceutical PV environment at a local level with a good understanding of commercial operations in order to contribute to Takeda business needs and strategy.

This key role will give the successful candidate exposure to a wide variety of development projects and initiatives to drive the evolution of technology within PV and would therefore suit an innovative strategic thinker who is able to drive multiple-simultaneous initiatives.

Additional key skills required include:

  • People management skills with the ability to lead and motivate both experienced and inexperienced members.
  • Advanced cross functional personal leadership skills to collaborate, influence and achieve alignment with a diverse group of partners, regions and cultures within a matrix setting.
  • A thorough knowledge of local safety and regulatory requirements
  • Process driven with ability to set work systems, procedures and track performance.
  • Understanding of and contribution to Takeda commercial business needs and strategy.
