JOB LOCATION:  Exton, PA

POSITION:  GL Ops Senior Accountant  

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Shire Pharmaceuticals LLC, a Takeda company, is seeking a GL Ops Senior Accountant with the following duties: responsible for US and Canada entities; participate in monthly and quarterly accounting close, including preparation of journal entries; utilize ERP system, i.e. Oracle JD Edward and SAP as well as other reporting tools to perform assigned accounting tasks/calculations, financial statement analysis as needed and report data to support external SEC filings; ensure all information received by business units, subsidiary systems, and interfaces are accurate, timely and are in compliance with GAAP and U.S. statutory requirements; prepare and document balance sheet account reconciliations and financial statement analysis on a monthly basis; perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support the financials and other projects; monitor and evaluate effectiveness of established internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including making recommendations for enhancements or modifications to existing processes and systems; prepare monthly and quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley control packages per documented requirements; participate in all aspects of internal and external financial and operational audits; prepare and file all required government data surveys as well as financial statements and tax forms for Canadian entities, and perform special projects as required; study and advise department on statutory reports/financial statements and T106 in conformance with established policies and Canadian GAAP; calculate and report for filing GST/HST and QST - Indirect tax of Canada; perform general ledger reconciliation, accruals, correcting entries, cost allocation and tax related financial operation utilizing ERP system – Oracle E-Business Suite, Business Intelligent, Business Discoverer; perform closing accounting entries, and participated in the reporting process to deliver financial records and results for consolidation in Financial Statements; design and monitor internal controls, specifically around cash receipts.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field plus 6 years related experience. Will accept any level of experience in the following skills: study and advise department on statutory reports/financial statements and T106 in conformance with established policies and Canadian GAAP; calculate and report for filing GST/HST and QST - Indirect tax of Canada; perform general ledger reconciliation, accruals, correcting entries, cost allocation and tax related financial operation utilizing ERP system – Oracle E-Business Suite, Business Intelligent, Business Discoverer; perform closing accounting entries, and participated in the reporting process to deliver financial records and results for consolidation in Financial Statements; design and monitor internal controls, specifically around cash receipts.

Full time. $98,000.00- $127,400.00/year.  Competitive compensation and benefits.
