Join us as our Privacy Officer for UK, Ireland & Canada in either Dublin (Ireland) or London (UK).

As our successful Privacy Offer, you will proactively and independently manage the risk of Takeda’s handling of personal data for designated Takeda entity(ies). Assess privacy risks and maintain compliance with privacy legislation.

You will be our Privacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designated Takeda entity(ies)/countries.

You will be a Member of Takeda’s Privacy Network and will closely collaborate with Takeda’s Privacy Office in support of the overall company Privacy Program. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Guidance & Contracting: Serve as point of contact for local needs in relation to records, drafting of privacy notices, contract drafting and general privacy guidance and support

  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate and advise the local business on privacy risks associated with new technologies, programs, and systems and conduct privacy impact assessments (Local initiatives)

  • Subject Requests: Ensure timely response to data subject requests and maintain compliance documentation.

  • Training: Support dissemination and delivery of privacy training initiatives at local level.

  • Vendor Due Diligence: Conduct privacy related vendor due diligent assessments for local vendors.

  • Regulatory and Legislative Tracking: Monitor legislative changes, analyse and support implementation of new privacy rules and regulations in respective countries

  • Engagement with local authorities: Support response to local data protection authority requests/inspections

  • Participate in internal and external networks and groups to support the business, maintain level of expertise and for benchmarking purposes

Key Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Law

  • Professional working experience in Privacy; Experience in the pharmaceutical/health sector would be a benefit.

  • Privacy Certification(s) like IAPP-CIPM/CIPT/CIPE or equivalent would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated professional SME privacy expertise applied in programs, training and tools

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong ethical behaviour, with the ability to remain impartial and report all non-compliance. Role model for Takeda values.

  • Skilled in influencing, working with diverse stakeholders in a cross-functional capacity and achieving results in international highly matrixed organization.

  • Leadership capabilities, including ability to interact with and advise senior business leaders & influence business stakeholders across the organisation; confidence and ability to interact with outside counsel, regulatory authorities and experts, as appropriate

  • Ability to advise on risk-based decisions involving regulatory, reputational and financial risk and to act with a high degree of integrity and with autonomy.

  • Mindset of curiosity, learning agility and interest in innovative ways of doing things.

  • Strong command of the English language (both verbal and written).
