Highly motivated biologist to design and perform laboratory experiments primarily related to cellular functional assays to characterize biologics of interest.  Knowledge of a diverse range of cellular experiments to measure changes in cellular activity in support of in vitro and in vivo studies is required. Scientist will design and establish experimental approaches addressing mechanism of action of drug candidates such as cellular uptake and kinetics, localization and recycling of drug product within target cells and draw conclusions and develop hypothesis and design experiments to test hypothesis based on data. In addition, employee will be expected to develop pharmacodynamic markers to incorporate into the early development of drug candidates. Employee also interacts with support personnel from other departments, as well as with external vendors. Prepare scientific reports and participate in team-wide scientific presentations.

BS/MS in biology related field with 5-10 years of industrial pharmaceutical experience in mammalian cell culture or PhD with post-doctoral experience, in vitro cell based assays, cell culture, immunoassays, electrophoresis, and immunoblot techniques required.  

  • Skills: Hands on experience and proficiency with the use of analytical tools and techniques for performing classic molecular biology experiments including mammalian cell culture, colorimetric and fluorimetric assays, ELISA, Western blot, enzymatic activity assays and spectrophotometry.   In addition, significant proficiency in assays supporting hemophilia and hemostasis studies such as clotting (aPTT/PT) and TGA/CAT.
  • Demonstrated capability for high quality work and keen attention to details
  • Ability to function independently
  • Proficiency in technical writing and presentation
  • Strong computer skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point  
  • Recommend specialized equipment (capital and other lab equipment) based on set budget and established time lines designated by department head
  • Contribute specific experimental designs and test conditions based on knowledge gained through prior hands-on experience and/or review of relevant technical literature
  • Recommend specific experimental reagents and vendors based on familiarity, preference, availability and price
