In Vivo Research Associate

  • The In Vivo Research Associate will be responsible for performing in-life experiments on experimental animals, including injections by conventional routes (IV, SC, IP, PO, IM), necropsy and tissue collection, blood sampling (retroorbital, cardiac puncture), general health evaluations. Comply with IACUC and AALAS guidelines on the care of use of experimental animals in research.
  • Analyze biological samples using a variety of techniques, including ELISA, PCR, kit assays (BCA, creatinine), and HPLC. Assist in RDR report preparation and data QC function. Ability and willingness to learn new techniques and apply these skills to emerging projects
  • Maintain meticulous records of experimental data and observations in electronic laboratory notebooks in strict accordance with corporate guidelines.

Education and Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years relevant work experience. Non bachelor degreed applicants should have significant relevant experience.
  • LAT certification is suggested but not required
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Excellent animal handling (rats and mice) skills.
  • Injections by conventional routes (IV, SC, IP, PO, IM).
  • Mouse inhalant anesthesia.
  • Necropsy and tissue collection.
  • Blood sampling (retroorbital, submandibular and cardiac puncture) and processing skills.
  • Experience with routine assays (ELISA, BCA, etc).
  • Experience with primary cell isolation and/or culture a plus.
  • Proficiency with standard software and some data analysis skills (MS Excel, MS Word, etc).
