This Associate Director level role is responsible for designing and operationalizing patient strategy for the Multiple Myeloma Franchise. Focus on developing key direct to consumer (DTC) campaigns, messages and materials aligned with brand positioning and ensuring alignment across stakeholders. Works closely with US Solid Tumor Sales, US Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) Team, US Insights and Analytics, Patient Advocacy, US Market Access, Communications and US Finance to develop and execute the US Patient strategy and tactical plan. Responsibilities also include recommending changes in marketing philosophy and policy as needed to align appropriate business goals and/or strategy, etc.
Executes against the US commercialization plan to meet the broader Takeda OBU corporate objectives
Develops patient DTC strategy, innovative campaigns, message architecture, materials and support programs. Ensures alignment with overall brand strategy and patient initiatives across both Multiple Myeloma assets (VELCADE, NINLARO)
Partners with Insights & Analytics, Patient Advocacy & Engagement and Communications to distill insights, develop patient journeys, and design programs to ensure best patient experience.
Validate business opportunities, optimize marketing mix for patient and monitor ROI of individual tactics
Creatively think about how we evolve our marketing mix in light of current environment to leverage digital channels to effectively reach patients.
Develops creative briefs/brand book; designs core consumer brand promotional assets (e.g., websites, brochures, banners, education) and assures brand execution of messaging & strategy
Identifies critical design elements for initiatives/promotions designed to drive desired patient behavior change
Drives patient agency management and develops creative briefs for focused initiatives
Responsible for partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement patient experience support programs (education, adherence, beyond the pill)
Manages patient ad boards
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
8 years or more previous experience in a combination of product marketing, digital marketing, field sales, marketing planning management in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, or in agency supporting pharma brand strategy.
Expertise with omnichannel, integrated promotion with a strong emphasis in digital and social media strategy and execution
Expertise in media planning, measurement and analytics for patient reaching channels
Strong customer orientation/focus including a willingness to work closely with internal teams to meet and exceed customer expectations
Demonstrated ability to create presentations and distill team thinking into clear and actionable recommendations
Demonstrated strategic thinking, initiative, creativity and proven track-record for innovation
Strong organizational and project management skills, along with solid decision-making skills, ability to work on multiple and often diverse areas and to prioritize effectively
Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners without direct authority
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential

Strategic Planning and Implementation – Ability to develop an overall patient strategy for Multiple Myeloma and oversee the implementation of the strategy.
Management – Ability to set priorities, develop workflow processes, and influence without authority
Communication – Ability to communicate ideas, data both verbally and written, in a persuasive and appropriate manner.
Budgeting – Ability to create and maintain an accurate budget for department expenses.
Able to sit for long periods at a desk
Able to read and review large quantities of printed material or online material
Travel to internal and external meetings including overnights and weekends will be required, estimated up to 20% travel.
