US Medical Affairs Field Excellence Associate Director, Field Medical Platforms & Analytics (REMOTE)

The Field Excellence Associate Director, Field Medical Platforms and Analytics will be responsible and accountable for providing direction, leadership, and operational excellence in delivery within the US and across all US Field Medical functions. Core areas of focus will include: US Medical Data strategy, US Field Medical Operations, and Field Medical Platforms. Field Platform accountabilities will include building and maintaining a CRM platform, insight acquisition tool(s), content management system(s), data reporting roadmap, and other systems to ensure long-term strategy is in line with business strategies of US Medical. This person provides leadership on measuring performance and proactively identifying trends to allow Field Medical and US Medical make more informed business decisions. Additional responsibilities and accountabilities may include digital strategy initiatives, information technology, functional IT assistance, or other functional support of Field Medical activities as appropriate.

Reports directly to the Sr. Director, US Field Medical Excellence.

  • Build, develop, and manage a team of employees, contractors, and/or consultants
  • Design, maintain, and adapt effective and lean Field Medical Platforms and data analytics to meet evolving business strategy
  • Identify, prioritize, and address internal stakeholder platforms and analytics needs across all US Field Medical teams
  • Strategically lead multiple projects including: process, people, and organization activities. Enhancements projects, new system launches, strategic vendor (Veeva, Shufflrr, MindTickle, 3Vue, etc.) management and process improvements
  • Create and enable field medical excellence through the implementation of solutions that address business needs and proactively propose system and platform improvements to ensure ongoing alignment with business
  • Ensure Field Medical platforms and supporting processes deliver timely and accurate data analytics for field medical activities
  • Direct the development of platform and data analytics roadmaps, implementation, and on-going operations for data and related systems
  • Prioritize and communicate development plans and produce roadmaps to ensure clear communication to senior leadership, as well as, direct the testing, quality assurance, implementation, planning, and maintenance of core platforms and data systems
  • Provide leadership and support to senior leadership, their teams, operations, projects, governance and ensure operational excellence
  • Manage the analytics function for US Field Medical and supporting US Medical teams as appropriate. This includes maintaining processes, and contributing directly to:
    o Analyzing, interpreting and visualizing data to help users meet reporting analytical needs.
    o Designing, creating and maintaining reports that are clear, concise and representative of the identified needs, using query, reporting and visualization tools.
    o Work collaboratively with business partners to facilitate more efficient and effective ways to collect, maintain, and report information.
    o In collaboration with Sr. Director, Field Medical Excellence and Field Medical LT, establishing metrics, ensuring the processes are in place and being followed to capture the required data and providing reporting capabilities.
    o Insight analysis, metric tracking and reporting
  • Develop outcome-driven analyses addressing stakeholder needs
  • Analyze Field Medical Excellence data to inform the development of training programs and business solutions to further drive field medical performance
  • Analyze and communicate highly critical insights and trends from Field Medical and perform additional root-cause analysis with Field Medical leadership
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders and vendors to deliver results on time and on budget
  • Identify gaps in performance and solicit stakeholders to develop solutions to foster a continuous improvement culture
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of metrics, KPI’s and other analytics and generating communications and reports that may be relevant for inclusion in responses to other significant reports to the VP of Medical Affairs, Sr. Director Field Medical Excellence, Scientific Director(s), Scientific Associate Director(s), and Field Medical
  • Maintains relationships with and provides reporting & analytical support to business functions and supports cross-functional projects. Creates alignment across therapeutic areas and functions to ensure consistent collection, analysis and presentation of data for Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and outcome metrics.
  • Develops organizational proficiency within existing databases and systems


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in Pharmaceutical or related industry with demonstrated ability to lead and perform analyses on key organizational performance, financial and operational data / metrics to drive meaningful improvement to organizational performance
  • Demonstrated experience with providing advanced data insights as well as knowledge of analysis tools 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QlikSense and other common analytic tools
  • Exceptional verbal and visual communication skills to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to a wide variety of audiences. 
  • Demonstrated strong client-orientation when working with and for internal customers. 
  • Demonstrated comfort in interacting with senior management. 
  • Ability to collaborate in a rapidly evolving environment. 
  • Ability to interact effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity to tackle hard business problems using data and analytics to develop meaningful, practical solutions. 
  • Strong background in bio-medical science, or experience working in a scientific/medical environment preferred
  • Previous experience working with field medical functions preferred.
  • Previous experience with Medical Affairs systems such as Veeva, Siebel, and other systems preferred
  • Previous demonstration of abilities to create “dashboards” to summarize analytic trends requiring synthesis of several disparate sources of data into a common view strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accessing data sources of differing complexities required. Knowledge of analytic techniques including practical statistics and knowledge of database querying and query design a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in data manipulation and presentation (including Excel®, QlikSense) and strong presentation skills (including PowerPoint®) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships and ability to function effectively in a matrix environment.

This role often works with a virtual team and may require travel up to 25%
