Inside Minnesota's Largest Biologics Manufacturer

Located just outside of Minneapolis in the northwest suburbs, our Brooklyn Park manufacturing facility sits on 36 acres with 220,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehousing, laboratories, and offices. We acquired the facility in 2016 and operates as a Biologics Center of Excellence. Since 2016, the facility has grown from 42 full-time employees to more than 300, making it now the largest biologics manufacturer in the state of Minnesota. As the facility has expanded, so to have the opportunities for team members to build their skills and careers – from supporting product expansion to the chance to work with some of the industry’s latest technology innovations.

A Focus on Growth and Development

Helping employees grow in their careers has always been a priority for us. In 2019, our Brooklyn Park facility announced a partnership with the University of Minnesota's BioTechnology Institute on a training program that would provide advanced training for Takeda employees on a range of topics – from Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), technical writing, facility operations and the product life cycle of biologics. To further emphasize the importance of understanding the science behind how our products work, a new rotational program was recently launched in Brooklyn Park that helps employees deepen their knowledge of that science, further building capabilities and setting them up for long-term success in the biopharma industry.
